Developmental Origin of Healthy and Unhealthy Ageing: the role of maternal obesity. Final stakeholder workshop IFC CNR and the DOREMI FP7 project partners 2 dicembre 2014 Bruxelles, Belgio Understanding basic mechanisms of early life development and ageing, which may translate into the improvement of health and quality of life during the entire life course, is crucial. The role of maternal obesity was investigated. The workshop addressed a series of key questions: i) Does maternal obesity affect health during ageing? ii) Can we identify signs of disease during early life? And: iii) Is there a role for cortisol? iv) for oxidative stress? v) for epigenetics? vi) for telomeres?

Device-based therapeutic approaches assume an increasingly important role in treating the growing number of patients with advanced heart failure as destination therapy, due to difficulties of having a sufficient number of donor organs, The eHealth scenario is dedicated to patients with failing heart already implanted or to be implanted with Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs), as cardiocirculatory therapeutic support.
